On May 21, 2024, the 45th Annual Sports Emmy® Awards took place at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City. The event celebrated the best in sports television, recognizing excellence in categories ranging from Outstanding Live Special and Live Series to Documentary, Journalism, Public Service Content, Esports Coverage, Outstanding Studio Host, Event Analyst, and Emerging On-Air Talent.

The prestigious Sports Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to the legendary James Brown for his remarkable contributions to the world of sports broadcasting. The Kid Mero hosted the star-studded ceremony, which featured notable sports television personalities and distinguished guests, including Adam Sharp, President & CEO of NATAS, and Sean McManus, former Chairman of CBS Sports.

Jimmy Doles, a promising student from Huntley, Illinois, was awarded the Jim McKay Memorial Scholarship to pursue his education at Northern Illinois University. In addition, the HBCU Sports Production Grant was presented to a team of talented students from Florida A&M University, consisting of Jonathan David, Germanie Bozeman, Tristian Hutton, Darnell Walker-Jones, and Jalon Howard. This grant is a testament to NATAS and The Coca-Cola Company’s commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion in the sports media industry.

The 46 categories awarded at the 45th Annual Sports Emmy® Awards showcased the exceptional storytelling, innovation, and dedication of the sports television community. The winners included outstanding productions from ESPN, CBS Sports, NBC Sports, and other leading networks.
