Winter Weather Causes School Closures and Business Disruptions in Houston Area

Due to concerns regarding extreme cold and wind chill conditions across Texas and the Houston area, numerous schools and businesses have announced closures and schedule adjustments for Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
School Closures:
- Angleton ISD: All campuses and facilities will be closed on Tuesday, January 16.
- Boling ISD: Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 16.
- Brazosport College: Classes and operations, including the Bill & Julia May Children’s Center, will be closed on Tuesday, January 16.
- Centerville ISD: Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 16.
- Cleveland ISD: All campuses and facilities will be closed on Tuesday, January 16. The warming centers at Cleveland Middle School and Santa Fe Middle School will extend their hours of operation until 5 PM on Tuesday. All enrolled Cleveland ISD students and their families are welcome.
- Conroe ISD: Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 16.
- Dayton ISD: Classes and activities have been canceled on Tuesday, January 16.
- Galena Park ISD: Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 16.
- Goodrich ISD: Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 16.
- Katy ISD: Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 16.
