Harbaugh’s defensive prowess is evident in Michigan’s top-ranked defense in the nation, allowing only 291.0 yards per game over his tenure. The Wolverines had a top-five defense five times during those nine seasons, including two seasons as the nation’s top-ranked defense.

In his four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, Harbaugh led the team to the NFC Championship Game three times in a row, including an appearance in Super Bowl XLVII. Harbaugh’s Coaching Journey

Prior to his NFL head coaching career, Harbaugh spent four years at Stanford University (2007-2010) and three years at the University of San Diego (2004-2006). He turned around a struggling Stanford program, leading the Cardinal to 29 wins in four seasons and an Orange Bowl victory in 2010. At San Diego, he led the Toreros to a 29-6 record in three years.

Harbaugh began his coaching career as the quarterbacks coach for the Oakland Raiders from 2002 to 2003, where he helped lead the team to Super Bowl XXXVII. He also had a successful playing career in the NFL, starting 140 of 177 games and earning Pro Bowl and AP first-team All-Pro honors.
