The Giants will face the San Marin Mustangs (18-7) in the final on Friday at Albert Park. Redwood and San Marin split their regular-season series, with Redwood winning 9-3 on March 30 and San Marin triumphing 7-4 on April 25.

Top-seeded Marin Catholic (17-5) cruised to an 8-4 victory over No. 4 Monte Vista (14-9) in the semifinals. The Wildcats will face No. 3 De La Salle in the final, which they will host at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Redwood (16-7) fell to De La Salle in overtime, 13-12.

Top-seeded San Marin (16-5) punched their ticket to the final with an 11-7 victory over No. 4 Acalanes (13-8). The Mustangs will face No. 2 Campolindo in the final, which they will host at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Abigail Brackett led San Marin’s offense with five goals, while Abby Bartholo added four. San Marin avenged an 11-9 loss to Acalanes earlier in the season.

Marin Catholic Defeats Monte Vista, Advances to Championship Game

Top-seeded Marin Catholic (17-5) defeated No. 4 Monte Vista (14-9), 8-4, in the semifinals of the North Coast Section Division I boys lacrosse playoffs on Tuesday night.

The Wildcats will face No. 3 De La Salle (16-6) in the final on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at MC’s home field.

MC took control of the game early, scoring the first three goals and never trailing. The Wildcats led 5-2 at halftime and extended their lead to 8-3 in the third quarter.

Monte Vista scored a goal with 2:30 remaining in the game, but MC held on for the win.

Senior attackman Jack Kelly led the Wildcats with three goals and one assist. Junior midfielder Jack Lowery added two goals and one assist, and senior midfielder Will Bowen had one goal and two assists.

Senior goalie Jack Meyer made 10 saves for MC.

MC Avenges Regular Season Loss to De La Salle

Marin Catholic and De La Salle split their two regular season meetings, with each team winning on its home field. MC won the first meeting, 10-9, on March 22, and De La Salle won the second meeting, 12-11, on April 26.

The Wildcats will be looking to avenge their loss to De La Salle in the regular season finale when they face the Spartans in the NCS final.

San Marin avenged an 11-9 loss to Acalanes earlier in the season. The Wildcats led 6-3 at halftime and held on for the win despite being outscored 4-3 in the second half.

Senior attacker Abigail Brackett led the Wildcats with five goals and one assist. Junior midfielder Abby Bartholo added four goals and one assist, and senior defender Emma Norton had one goal and two assists.

Senior goalie Kendall Hammar made 10 saves for San Marin.

The Mustangs are looking to win their first NCS title since 2015. San Marin lost to Marin Catholic in the NCS final last year.

The Mustangs have a strong team led by senior pitcher and shortstop Jack Borucki. Borucki is a four-year varsity player who has been one of the best players in the MCAL this season.

San Marin also has a good offense led by senior outfielder Jake Simmons. Simmons is a three-year varsity player who is hitting over .400 this season.

The Mustangs will be a tough opponent for Redwood, but the Giants are the No. 1 seed in the tournament for a reason. Redwood has a lot of experience in big games, and the Giants will be confident they can win their second NCS title in three years.
