A Look Back: Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Swimming and Diving, and Track and Field

Men’s Basketball:

* The No. 14 Bears extended their winning streak to four games with victories over Emory University and the University of Rochester.
* Junior Kyle Beedon led the scoring in both games, averaging 16.0 points per game.
* Junior Drake Kindsvater also had a strong week, averaging 18.5 points and 8.5 rebounds.
* The Bears’ defense was impressive, holding their opponents to an average of 75.0 points per game.

Women’s Basketball:

* The Bears dropped two close games to Emory University and the University of Rochester, snapping their five-game winning streak.
* Senior Jessica Brooks and first-year Sidney Rogers led the scoring for the Bears, averaging 16.5 and 15.5 points per game, respectively.
* The Bears struggled to shoot the ball from three-point range, making just 19.0% of their attempts.

Men’s Track and Field:

* The Bears competed at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Friday Night Invite.
* Alex Djetto, James Corbett, the 4×400 relay team, and George Bourdier all won events for the Bears.
* Djetto won the 400-meter race with a time of 51.25, while Corbett won the 800-meter event in 1:56.47.
* The 4×400 relay team, consisting of Alex Gardner, William Frohling, Jackson Cox, and Djetto, won the event with a time of 3:23.30.
* Bourdier won the pole vault event with a vault of 4.80m.

No. 10 Men’s Swimming and Diving:

* The Bears defeated UMSL but fell to McKendree in a pair of dual meets this past weekend.
* Ethan Feng won three individual events, including the 200 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 200 freestyle relay.
* Senior Kyle Wolford won the 100 backstroke, while Orluke Borjigin won the 500 freestyle.
* The Bears’ 200 medley relay team of Alex McCormick, Justin Rockaway, Nathan Lin, and Austin Bick also won their event.

Women’s Swimming and Diving:

* The Bears did not compete this past weekend.

On the Horizon:

Women’s Track and Field:

* The Bears will travel to Illinois Wesleyan University for the I-55 Triangular on Saturday, January 20.

Men’s Track and Field:

* The Bears will also compete in the I-55 Triangular at Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday, January 20.

Women’s Basketball:

* The Bears will face New York University on Friday, January 19, and Brandeis University on Sunday, January 21, in UAA road games.

Men’s Basketball:

* The Bears will play New York University on Friday, January 19, and Brandeis University on Sunday, January 21, in UAA road games.

Men’s Swimming and Diving:

* The Bears will travel to DePauw University for a dual meet on Saturday, January 20.

Women’s Swimming and Diving:

* The Bears will also face DePauw University in a dual meet on Saturday, January 20.

Additional Highlights:

* Senior Alex McCormick was named the UAA Men’s Swimmer of the Week for his performance against UMSL.
* Junior Drake Kindsvater was named the UAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his efforts against Emory University and the University of Rochester.
