Celebrating 10 Years of Women Entrepreneurship Week
2023 marks a significant milestone for Women Entrepreneurship Week (WEW), an initiative that was born at Montclair State University and has since grown into a global event. This year, WEW celebrates its 10th anniversary, providing a platform to recognize and celebrate the achievements of female founders and entrepreneurs.
A Dynamic Lineup of Speakers and Panelists
The 2023 WEW event promises to be a dynamic and inspiring gathering of entrepreneurial experts. The lineup includes:
- Farnoosh Torabi, personal finance expert and author, will share insights from her latest book, A Healthy State of Panic, during a networking luncheon.
- Cyndie Spiegel, best-selling author and keynote speaker, will deliver a thought-provoking address on finding hope amidst life’s challenges.
- Adriana Carrig, founder of the Little Words Project, and Amy Ogbonna, board member of Herself Co., will engage in a fireside chat about the power of kindness in entrepreneurship.
- A panel discussion featuring personal finance expert Farnoosh Torabi, Maya Brooks (founder of Privy Labs), Sara Peña (PSEG director of external affairs), and Paula Machado Jackler (founder of Ozzie) will explore strategies for overcoming funding fears.
- Cynthia Pong, author, career coach, and self-described “hype woman for women of color,” will deliver the closing keynote address, inspiring attendees with her message of empowerment and resilience.

The WEW 2023 event will be held on October 18th at the University Hall Conference Center from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. In addition to the speaker sessions and panel discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to network with fellow entrepreneurs, learn about resources available to women-owned businesses, and participate in an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding female founders.
